The Indian Cricket team Captain Virat Kohli has set an example to the brand endorsers in our country. Kohli, on Sunday, decided not to renew his six year multi crore deal with PepsiCo.

Virat, in an explanation said, he would only endorse products that he consumes or those to which he could relate. Virat, who follows a strict fitness regime, said it is for the same reason he decided not to extend the contract.

In an interview with a popular news daily, Virat said, “If I myself won’t consume such things, I won’t urge others to consume it, just because I am getting money out of it.” He added, “When I started my fitness turnaround, it was more of a lifestyle thing initially. If something goes away from that, I would not want to be a part of that or be promoting that.”

Kohli was at his best during the ongoing Champions Trophy in England. He scored 81 runs off 68 deliveries. However, the skipper was gushing about Yuvraj Singh, who scored 53 off 32 balls. He said, “The way he (Yuvraj) was hitting the ball, I felt like a club batter in front of him.”

Kohli had been seen in his best form this Championship Series despite some losses. Here is to wishing that celebs endorsing different brands will take a leaf out of Virat’s book and follow him!
