Shivam Dube In Indian Squad To Play T20I Series Against Bangladesh

YSRCP Constitutes Committee For APSRTC-AP Government Merger

Shivam Dube, a cricketer of the Indian Cricket Team from Mumbai, is all set to play the T20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh.

Shivam Dube, who made his 20-20 debut for Mumbai in 2015-2016 and won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, got a chance to represent India in the upcoming T20I series due to Hardik Pandya’s injury.

The Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI) selected Shivam Dube after his impressive performance during the India A series this year and the Vijay Hazare Trophy championship.

Shivam Dube addressed the media after his selection and said, “I have a bit of natural power and I work on that. My father always wanted to make me an aggressive batsman and that became my lifestyle. I love power hitting.”  He further added, “I would like to thank God and my dad. Especially my dad, who always supported me and it was his dream (that I play for India.)”

Speaking about Shivam Dube’s selection, M.S.K. Prasad, the Chief Selector of the BCCI, said, “In our earlier T20 squad, we had Hardik [who’s now recovering from back surgery.] We also tried Vijay Shankar. We all felt that the role Shivam has to deliver in, he fits it much better. He bats aggressively, his performances in India A series in the West Indies and also against South Africa in the one dayers was phenomenal. Dube has come up by leaps and bounds and we are convinced.”

The T20I series between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to begin from the 3rd of November and will continue till the 10th of November.

Stay tuned for further updates.
