Arjun Tendulkar the son of legend Sachin Tendulkar bowled better in his maiden Under 19 match. Arjun departed for a duck in the Youth Test match against the U19 Sri Lankan team. The match held at Nondescripts Cricket Club in Colombo saw the young Tendulkar’s first international wicket.
The 18 year old all rounder needed just 12 balls to claim his first international wicket. Arjun trapped Sri Lanka’s Kamil Mishara and bagged a wicket with an lbw (leg before wicket.) Arjun is a left arm pacer and bowled a total of 11 overs and gave away 33 runs.

Coincidentally Sachin Tendulkar was also duck out in his first ODI match against Pakistan in 1989. Arjun is taking in his father’s footsteps and has trained hard to get selected for the Sri Lanka U19 tour.
Sachin Tendulkar’s childhood friend Vinod Kambli was overjoyed with Arjun’s performance and tweeted an emotional message. The tweet read, “Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment.”
In July, Arjun was picked to represent India for the U19 Sri Lanka tour. He also attended the U 19 camp at the National Cricket Academy. He was supervised by W. V. Raman and Sanath Kumar.
