Can you imagine standing in a long queue for your child’s admission and waiting for your turn to come amidst a sweaty crowd? But what if all of this could be done online by just sitting in your home or office. Yes, this is no dream – this is really happening!
A Mumbai based startup called Classfever came up with an idea of creating comfort for parents and even students to search for the best schools online in one app. This idea came into existence when Akshay Agarwal’s parents were looking for a school since his previous school had classes only till class 10th. Akshay said,”It was a bit of hassle when I wanted to change schools because there was no information available on the quality of different schools. There wasn’t any way for me or my parents to make informed decision.”
He then came up with an idea of creating a common platform which had reviews of all schools, everything in one place so that they wouldn’t have to go to different platforms to search for schools. With the birth of this idea, Akshay launched Classfever in early 2015. He conducted a study, with a team of four members and came up with the list of factors that would decide which school is better suited for an individual.
Today, classfever lists more than 3000 schools across Maharashtra and is considered as the most relevant platform for parents to do a school hunt. They cover MUN’S, class debates, competitive exams ,corporate competitions, olympiads etc. One thing that sets Classfever apart from any other platform is that it handles all of Maharashtra’s online admission needs for the coming year. Apart from solving admission problems, Classfever also helps teachers to apply for jobs online!
Now, Akshay has moved to California to complete his graduation from a design college while his team is operating back in Mumbai.Akshay plans to come back and continue with Classfever in the future and to get all the schools across the country on a single platform!
