On the 25th of December, Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul ul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) met K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

The meeting was organised in the wake of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) implementing the National Population Register (NPR.)

During the meeting, Asaduddin Owaisi urged Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief KCR not to support the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, the NPR and the National Register of Citizens (NRC.)

The meeting was held at Pragathi Bhavan on the afternoon of the 25th of December and lasted for 3 hours.

Asaduddin Owaisi, along with a team of United Muslim Action Committee leaders, discussed the NPR and the NRC with the Chief Minister.  While Asaduddin Owaisi is against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the NRP and the NCR, K. Chandrashekar Rao would discuss the issue with the concerned officials and announce the Party’s stand within two days.

Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi organised a meeting regarding the same matter in Nizamabad on the 27th of December and asked the TRS Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to attend the meeting.
