The Balapur Ganesh laddu was auctioned for Rs. 17.6 lakhs, on the 12th of September.
The Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi auctioned the famous laddu. In 2018, the laddu was sold for Rs. 16.6 lakhs.
The Balapur laddu auction ended on the morning of the 12th of September. A total of 28 devotees participated in the auction, including 4 non local people.
Rami Reddy, one of the devotees, bid Rs. 17.60 lakhs and took the 21 kg laddu. Mr. Reddy is a businessman and agriculturist.
The gold plated laddu was given to Ram Reddy on a silver plate.
In 2018, Srinivas Gupta, the President of the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi, got the laddu for Rs. 16.6 lakhs.
In 2017, Nagam Tirupathi Reddy bagged the laddu for Rs. 15.6 lakhs. The Samithi is organising the laddu auction during Ganesh immersion since 1994 and now, it has become a famous tradition in Telangana.
