Bandaru Dattatreya, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, criticised K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
On the 13th of August, Dattatreya addressed the media and shared his views regarding the comments of KTR about merging nationalism and communalism.
Dattatreya criticised KTR’s comments about combining nationalism and communalism and said it is not the right way to combine two different things and share such inappropriate comments.
Dattatreya also asked the TRS to organise an official event to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day on the 17th of September. He further said the TRS is afraid of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and that is why they never celebrated the freedom of Telangana.
Bandaru Dattatreya also asked K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, to hoist the national flag on the 17th of September, just as it is done on the 15th of August.
Later, Bandaru Dattatreya also asked the TRS Government to reveal details about the Kaleshwaram Project and explain how the people and villages will get water from the irrigation project. He said the TRS should give details about how many acres of land in the State were provided water using the project.
Bandaru said the farmers are waiting for water from the ambitious project of the TRS, which costs Rs. 80,000 crores.
The Kaleshwaram Project was inaugurated on the 21st of June and is being constructed to provide water to approximately 13 districts in Telangana. The Project is said to be the most expensive project in India.
The TRS did not react to the criticism of Bandaru Dattatreya yet.
