Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President of Telangana unit, wrote a letter to the Central Government.
In his letter, dated the 29th of July, the BJP President of Telangana, sought approval for a medical college in Gadwal district. The letter was addressed to the Union Health Minister Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya. Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that land acquisition process for setting up the medical college has been done and urged the Central Government to sanction the proposal to establish a 300 bed medical college and hospital in Jogulamba area of Gadwal district.
The aforementioned region of Telangana is one of the most backward districts. Establishment of a medical college in the district would be beneficial for the people residing there. It would also help in the growth and development of the State.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “Around 150 acres of land has been acquired for the medical college. However, the State Government (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) has left out the district and approved medical colleges to others districts.”
It is to be known, the TRS Government led by K.Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, sanctioned the establishment of 7 medical colleges in the State. The construction of medical colleges have been approved in Mahabubabad, Sangareddy, Jagtial, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Kothagudem and Mancherial. With the completion of the construction of new medical colleges, Telangana would have 16 medical colleges across the State.
