In a proud moment for Telangana, a documentary about Bathukamma,Telangana’s flower festival including special songs, would be screened at Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
The moment is said to be a historic one for the Telugu State, as their regional festival’s special song which was released in 2021 would be screened at the famous tallest building, Burj Khalifa, today, the 23rd of October, Saturday. According to sources, the arrangements for the big screening in a foreign country (the United Arab Emirates) was made by the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Ms. K. Kavitha. The TRS MLA first roped in musicians and composer Mr. A.R. Rahman, who composed and sang the Bathukamma song. Now, Ms. K. Kavitha attracted international recognition for the regional Bathukamma songs and festival. With this unique approach, not only national, but international people would also listen and witness the famous festival of Telangana, Bathukamma, celebrated for nine days during nine days of navratri.
Besides Ms. K. Kavitha, the representatives from the State, the members of the Telangana Jagruthi and the Non Residents of India (NRIs) of Telangana origin would attend the event. Apart from Telangana officials and NRIs, the officials of the UAE Government would also be a part of the historic moment.
The purpose behind arranging the event is to introduce Telangana’s culture to the world.
The Bathukamma songs screening event would be telecasted live from 9:30 P.M., today, the 23rd of October.
