BJP Leaders Demand Probe To Remove Illegal Immigrants In Telangana

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  demanded a probe to remove illegal immigrants residing in Telangana.

Dr.  K. Laxman, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana and  N. Ramachander Rao, the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of the BJP met M. Mahendar Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana.

During the meeting, which was scheduled on the 24th of February, Mr. Laxman and Mr. Rao urged for an investigation to identify illegal immigrants in Telangana.

Dr. K. Laxman said a large number of  Rohingya refugees are residing in Telangana illegally, which could be a threat to national security.

Mr. Rao and Mr. Laxman submitted a memorandum to the DGP, in which they expressed their concern for the national security saying Telangana is like ‘safe haven’ for Rohingya Muslims.

BJP leaders said, “124 out of the 127 people that the UIDAI slapped with notices for obtaining Aadhar Cards by producing fake documents are Rohingya Muslims.”

Criticising the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government for not taking the matter seriously, BJP leaders said the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government is neglecting the  national security issues.

Another major matter alleged by BJP leaders was, these Rohingya Muslims obtained all kinds of government identities like voter id card, Aadhar card, ration card and are also a part of the welfare schemes launched by the State Government.

While the BJP is asking for a probe to get rid of illegal immigrants,  the State Government and the State Police chose to be reticent regarding this matter.
