Advocate Pawan Kumar, on the 11th of November, complained against Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) in Bhopal.
The complaint was filed after Asaduddin Owaisi made a remark against the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute case.
Mr. Owaisi said, “Muslims are poor, but we can collect money to buy a 5-acre plot and build a mosque. We do not want your charity.”
Pawan Kumar filed a case with the Jahangirabad Police Station in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (MP.)
According to the complaint, Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks were “inciting a section of the population.”
Asaduddin Owaisi further added, “Like the Muslim Personal Law Board, we are not convinced with the decision. The Supreme Court may be supreme but it is not infallible. Those who demolished the Babri Masjid have been given the task of building a Ram temple by building trust.”
Salman Nizami, a leader of the Indian National Congress (INC,) questioned Asaduddin Owaisi’s comments and said, “No one needs to be disappointed. Only positive energy and thoughts can deal with hatred.” He further added the Muslims should build a mosque and an educational institution on the provided land, where both Muslim and Hindu children can study together.
On the 9th of November, the Supreme Court announced its verdict on the long standing issue of disputed land in Ayodhya. The Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute, which started in 1992, was finally resolved after the SC pronounced the judgement.
The judgement was in favour of the Hindus, whereas the Muslims were given an alternative 5 acres land in Ayodhya.
The Jahangirabad Police registered the case against Asaduddin Owaisi and launched an investigation regarding the same.
