On the 18th of August, the Supreme Court (SC) collegium recommended 7 district judges to be the judges of the Telangana High Court (HC.)
The recommendation was made by the Apex Court collegium led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) N.V. Ramana.
Mr. N.V. Ramana cleared seven judges’ names to be the Telangana HC judges with a unanimous resolution. The recommended names would now be forwarded to the Central Government, which would issue an official notification, regarding the same.

The 7 district judges recommended for the Telangana HC judges’ names include:
Telangana High Court Registrar General A. Venkateswar Reddy.
Hyderabad City Civil Court Chief Judge C. Sumalatha.
Member of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal P. Madhavi Devi.
Senior District Judge P. Sree Sudha.
Senior District Judge G. Radha Rani.
Senior District Judge M. Laxman.
Senior District Judge N. Tukaramji
With this recommendation of the SC, the aforementioned judges would soon become the Telangana High Court Judges.
Initially when the Telangana HC was formed separately in 2019, the granted strength of the Telangana HC judges was 24. Later, with the intervention of the CJI N.V. Ramana, the sanctioned strength of the Telangana HC judges was increased to 42.
Meanwhile, as of now, only 12 judges are working and hearing cases every day, but now with the addition of the recommended judges, the strength would go to 19.
