COVID-19 – GHMC DRF Begins Sanitizing Work In Hyderabad

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) staff are working tirelessly against the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The Disaster Response Force (DRF) of the GHMC are working 3 shifts a day, 24X7 to sanitise the entire Hyderabad from the deadly Coronavirus.

The decision to do the same was taken to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, especially after the Nationwide lockdown would end on the 15th of April.    The DRF of GHMC would sanitise the City by the 14th of April, making the city disinfected of the virus for the citizens. A total of 19 teams with 675 people are given the task to sanitise.  All the DRF personnel are equipped with advanced chemical resistant suits, gum boots, anti fogging goggles and PPEs.

The DRF started visiting each and every colony in Hyderabad and work to sanitise the areas, lanes and colonies.  The work to sanitise areas, started on the 5th of April. Mohan Rao, a resident of Baghlingampally, said, “They are doing a fabulous job and need to be appreciated.  Their efforts instil a sense of confidence among us.”

Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 334 COVID-19 positive cases with 11 casualties till date.
