COVID-19- KTR Creates Awareness With Safe Hand Wash Challenge

K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Minister of Telangana, took the Safe Hands Challenge, spreading awareness about the Novel Coronavirus .

Mr. Rao took to Twitter and posted a video while washing his hands with advice to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

In the short Twitter post, KTR emphasised on the need to self quarantine or self isolate, social distancing and other ways to fight the spread of the deadly virus.

Through this challenge, Mr. Rao also educated his followers to wash hands and use sanitizers as a safety measure.  KTR demonstrated washing his hands for a full twenty seconds, as a part of the Safe Hands Challenge.

He also spoke about the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government’s decision to impose a statewide lockdown, which was a rare action.  He urged people to understand the gravity of the situation and maintain self discipline to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Telangana. “The government took such an extreme decision only in the wake of the grave situation prevailing,” he tweeted.

 KTR nominated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Hardeep Singh Puri the Union Civil Aviation Minister, Piyush Goyal the Union Railway Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy the Chief Minister of  Andhra Pradesh, Marc Benioff the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Salesforce and actor Amitabh Bachachan to participate in the challenge.
