COVID- 19 -Telangana Health Minister Briefs Security Staff In A Meeting

Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, on the 19th of March, met with Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana and discussed the measures to prevent further infections by the Novel Coronavirus.

The meeting which was held at the Secretariat was attended by Health Department officials and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, Etela Rajender said wearing masks and using hand sanitizers are mandatory for all security staff in the government offices andthe Secretariat.  Citizens of the State are also advised to quarantine or isolate themselves to prevent the further spread of the virus.

Maintaining hygiene is a strict rule issued by the State Health Department  which includes washing hands, avoiding group meetings and sanitizing the building frequently.

Besides this, installation of a thermal screening facility at the Secretariat gate was also  discussed between the police and health departments. The facility of thermal screening was requested by the Telangana Secretariat Employees’ Association.

The updates were taken after the State Government reported 8 cases of the Novel Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19,  on the 18th of March. With this, the State has 13 positive COVID-19 cases.
