Covid-19 Telangana: Textile shops In Secunderabad To Remain Shut Till July 5

On the 24th of June, the General Bazar Silk Cloth Merchant Association, issued a notice to shut all the general textile stores in Secunderabad.

The decision was taken due to the surge of the Novel Coronavirus cases in the past few days.

Telangana witnessed a massive hike of approximately 600 plus fresh cases of the COVID-19 infection in the State marking 10,000 cases till date. 

Till the 25th of June, Telangana reported as many as 10,444 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.

In regard to the current situation, the Association decided to close all textile shops till the 5th of July.

 The textile traders at General Bazar have decided to shut down all the shops from the 25th of June till the 5th of July. 

The notice issued read, “Safety of our customers and our team is our utmost priority.” 

Arvind, a textile shop owner in Secunderabad said, “The decision comes after soaring Coronavirus cases in the area and we don’t want to take any chances.”

Another trader said “We have to take care of ourselves in the current scenario and hopefully we will be back in the business by the July first week.” 

However, the issued notice to close shops is applicable to only textile shops selling sarees.
