Nine men belonging to Telangana, on the 25th of August, returned to the State from Saudi Arabia.
According to sources, the men were stuck in Saudi Arabia and were seeking the help of the External Affairs Ministry to be rescued for the last 10 months.
The men were residents of Karimnagar, Jagtial, Nizamabad and Adilabad districts in Telangana.
The men said the company for which they were working took their visas and passports and did not allow them to return to India.
Shaik Chand Pasha, a social activist, informed about the situation to the Ministry of External Affairs, which later inquired about the men with the Indian Embassy.
As soon as the matter came to the notice of the External Affairs Ministry, they asked the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to look into the matter.
The Indian Embassy issued notices to the company and helped the men return to India.
The victims, after returning home, said they were duped by a travel company.
This is not the first time the Telangana Government, K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) as well as the Indian Foreign External Affairs Ministry rescued Indians stuck abroad.
