Former Cyberabad CP VC Sajjanar Takes Over As TSRTC MD On 3rd September

Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, the former Commissioner of Police (CP) of Cyberabad Police, took the office charge as the new Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC.)

Mr. Sajjanar took the office charge on the 3rd of September at the TSRTC Headquarters Bus Bhavan, Hyderabad.  Recently, the Indian Public Service (IPS) officer was transferred from the Cyberabad Police to the TSRTC.  The decision was taken by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

Mr. V.C. Sajjanar was in the Cyberabad Police since the last 3 years and worked to curb cyber crime in the City.  He was also involved in the investigation of several cyber crimes, money scams and other cases. 

Besides these, his major public victory was the 2019 encounter in the Disha Rape and Murder Case. 

In Hyderabad, a brutal incident of gang rape was reported in 2019.   A 23 year old doctor was abducted and gang raped by a group of  men in a secluded area of Hyderabad outskirts.  Later, she was burnt alive by the accused. 

The Hyderabad incident gained a lot of attention demanding strict punishment for the accused.  Speaking about the encounter, the Hyderabad Police during the investigation, took all the culprits to the crime spot for the recreation of the incident, then the accused tried to attack the police and escape, police retaliated.  V.C. Sajjanar, the then Commissioner of Police of Cyberabad, encountered and killed the accused on the spot.  Although the encounter was against the law, as no trials happened in the case, the Hyderabad Police gained appreciation from the public, for punishing the culprits of Disha (name given to the victim.) 

The TRS Government issued the transfer order of Mr. V.C. Sajjanar on the 25th of August and today, the 3rd of September, took the office incharge.
