Gaddam Venkata Swamy, a former Member of Parliament (MP) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
On the 9th of August, Venkata Swamy will join the BJP in the presence of Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, in Delhi. Apart from Amit Shah, Laxman, the President of the BJP in Telangana, will also be present during the event. Laxman will fly to Delhi to attend the event.
Amit Shah, Laxman and Venkata Swamy will meet Ram Madhav, the Secretary of the BJP and join the Party.
The reason behind the decision of Venkata Swamy is said to be his disappointment with the TRS, as the Party denied him a ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Peddapalle constituency.
The Telangana Lok Sabha elections took place on the 11th of April and the results were announced on the 23rd of May.
According to sources, after Venkata met Amit Shah previously, the Indian National Congress (INC) also approached him to join the INC.
However, Venkata Swamy chose the BJP and confirmed he is joining the BJP on the 9th of August.
