As per early trends of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 30 divisions and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is leading in 15 divisions.

As of 9:40 A.M., of the 150 divisions counting trend, the BJP is leading in 43 divisions and the TRS in 16.

Besides the TRS and the BJP, the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is leading in 6 divisions.

The counting of votes is taking place through ballot paper method and the results after first counting are likely to be announced after 11:00 A.M.

The counting of the GHMC election votes for 150 divisions started at 8:00 A.M., on the 4th of December.

The counting for votes in 150 wards is currently underway.

Of the several political parties contesting the GHMC elections, the battle looks in between only three major party, the TRS, the BJP and the AIMIM.

All the three parties conducted grand campaigns for the GHMC elections, which were held on the 1st of December.

However, repolling was conducted for the Old Malakpet division on the 3rd of December, due to some technical issues.

As many as 8,152 personnel would be involved in the counting of votes, which began at 8:00 A.M., on the 4th of December.

The counting of votes would take place in 30 locations and for every round 14,000 votes would be counted.

A total of 150 halls have been set up and each hall has 14 tables and 31 observers to monitor the counting of votes.

Surveillance cameras are also set up at each table to ensure transparency during the counting of votes.
