GHMC Elections : CP Anjani Kumar Says, 50,000 Police Personnel Deployed For Civic Polls

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar said that around 50,000 police personnel have been deployed for upcoming elections of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which are scheduled on December 1.

Speaking to media, Anjani Kumar said that security has also been deployed for Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s public meeting at LB Stadium held on the 28th of November.

Police personnel also ensured peaceful conduct of roadshows, public gatherings and rallies amid the Novel Coronavirus.

CP Anjani Kumar said, “In the view of the election, several rowdy sheeters were bound over. Licensed firearms and ammunition have to be deposited in the nearest police station before the day of polling.”

The heavy deployed police would ensure smooth conduct of polling in the GHMC limits.

All the parties contesting for the GHMC polls were involved in the election campaign to seek public support for the contestants. The major parties are, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

The election campaign ended today, the 29th of November and the polling will be held on th 1st of December.

The GHMC election result would be announced on the 4th of December.
