K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 6th of August, went for a one day visit to Kaleshwaram Project, situated on the Godavari river, Telangana.
During the one day visit, KCR inspected the Madigadda, Sundilla and Yellampalli barrages. Later, he visited Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Dharmapuri.
KCR addressed the media and said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) built the Kaleshwaram Project to utilise the water of the Godavari river. He congratulated the engineers and Irrigation Department officials for helping in making the Kaleshwaram Project a success.
During the press conference, Mr. Rao also criticised Lok Satta Party member Jayaprakash Narayana for making controversial comments regarding the construction of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project.
KCR said Jayaprakash Narayana criticised the TRS for something about which he does not know. Moving further with the criticism, KCR said Jayaprakash Narayana knows only a little about the Project and his comments were ridiculous.
The Kaleshwaram Project is one of the most expensive projects in India. It is worth Rs. 80,500 crores and will provide irrigation and drinking water to approximately 13 districts of Telangana.
