Highlights Of Review Meeting By KTR Regarding TRS Membership Drive

K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 26th of July, reviewed reports about the TRS membership drive in the State.

After a detailed scrutiny of the reports by the concerned officials from every constituency, it was noted the Gajwel constituency of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, recorded the highest number of members.

In the Gajwel constituency, approximately 70,000 members joined the TRS in the last month. Apart from Gajwel, the Palakurthy constituency of E. Dayakar Rao also recorded 70,000 new members.

The TRS membership drive started from the 27th of June and continued till the 20th of July. The TRS gave a target of getting 50,000 members from each constituency, whereas in total, the TRS expected 60 lakh new members.

As of now, in 10,000 constituencies, the membership crossed 60,000 and in 20 constituencies, it touched the target of 50,000.

According to the reports, individuals interested to become TRS members were higher in villages than in cities.

During the meeting, Rama Rao extended the dates of the membership drive in certain areas and asked the concerned officials to complete the target by the 30th of July and submit a final report to the party head office.

Based on the reports, it was also observed, so far, the TRS managed to get 40 lakh people enrolled across Telangana.

The membership drive is extended till the 30th of July. The extension may help the Party touch the target of getting 60 lakh members, as they need to enroll 20 lakh members only.

After the enrollment process, the Party will begin the insurance process, which is expected to begin from the 1st of August. The TRS Government received a total of Rs. 15 crores as membership fee and all the members, including the primary and active members, will get facilities like health insurance, amongst others.

In addition, KTR asked the officials to work on the formation of committees in villages.

Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, a leader of the TRS, also asked the officials to send the membership details to data centres for further processing.

The training of the members will start after the incharges of the constituencies form committees.

Stay tuned for further updates.
