The scrutiny of nominations for the Huzurnagar Assembly by elections ended on the 2nd of October.

The Returning Officer (RO) of the Telangana Election Commission (EC) scrutinised the nominations and rejected as many as 45 of them.  While reviewing the nominations, the authorities rejected the candidates’ affidavits for various reasons.

Approximately 119 nominations were filed till the 30th of September, the last date for filing nominations.

Speaking about the rejected nominations, the nomination papers of Parepalli Sekar Rao, the candidate the Communist Party of India [Marxist] (CPI [M,]) were rejected, which was a major shock for the Party.

The papers of N. Padmavathi Reddy, the candidate of the Indian National Congress (INC,) S. Saidi Reddy, the candidate of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Kota Ram Rao of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were accepted.

The nomination papers of Chava Kiranmai, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate, were also accepted.

The last date for withdrawing the nominations is the 3rd of October.

The Huzurnagar by election is scheduled to be held on the 21st of October and the results will be announced on the 24th of October.
