Hyderabad Court Dismisses Akhila Priya’s Bail Plea In Kidnapping Case

On the 18th of January, a Hyderabad court dismissed the bail plea filed by Bhuma Akhila Priya.

The former Minister of Andhra Pradesh and a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is alleged of kidnapping relatives of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Three men who are directly related to K. Chandrasekhar Rao, were kidnapped from their home in Bowenpally in Hyderabad on the evening of the 5th of January.

The reason behind the kidnapping is said to be a land dispute in Hafeezpet, Hyderabad.

According to the family members of the victim, the former tourism minister of Andhra Pradesh Bhuma Akhil Priya and her husband Bhargav’s family are alleged to have been involved in the kidnapping.

The other three accused are, K. Praveen Rao, K. Sunil Rao and K. Naveen Rao while senior TDP leader A.V. Subba Reddy and Akhila Priya’s husband Bhargav Ram were also alleged of being involved in the case.

The police deployed special teams to catch Bhargav Ram who is still absconding.

As of now, Ms. Akhila Priya is lodged in Chanchalguda jail in the kidnapping case.

The police filed a memo with additional sections opposing bail to Akhila Priya.

Meanwhile, the lawyers of Akhila Priya are planning to move the bail petition at Nampally Criminal Court.
