Two young girls, aged 20 years, committed suicide on the evening of the 7th of February.  The incident took place in Srinivasa Colony, Hayathnagar, Hyderabad.

The girls, identified as Mamatha and Gauthami, hung themselves to death.  The incident came to light when Mamatha’s parents, who were out during the incident, returned home.  When they did not get any response from Mamatha, they broke the door and found her and Gauthami hanging from the ceiling fan.

The reason the young girls took this step was their dissatisfaction with their lives.  The girls, in their suicide note, mentioned they did not wish to burden their families, hence they are putting an end to their lives.

While Mamatha worked at a school, Gauthami was looking for a job.  Though it is an open and shut suicide case, the Telangana Police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the 2 girls were sent for an autopsy to the Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad.
