Citizens of Hyderabad started a protest against the Delhi Police in the wake of the violent riots in northeast Delhi.
On the night of the 25th of February, residents of areas like Tolichowki, King Koti, Yakutpura and Seven Tombs took out a silent candle light protest, raising slogans against the Delhi Police.
The communal, Hindu-Muslim riot which took place on the 24th of February, in major areas of northeast Delhi was the biggest riot of 2020. The riot started over the recently implemented Citizenship (Amendment) Act, [CAA,] 2019.
A bunch of goons allegedly started pelting stones at protestors, opened fire, ransacked shops, houses and beat people in areas like Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Chandbagh, Khureji Khas and Bhajanpura.
According to a few opposition leaders and anti BJP parties, the goons vandalising houses and shops and targeting Muslims is the work of the Central Government. However, the Central Government denied the allegations stating it to be conspiracy of the opposition to defame the BJP.
While the Delhi people came out on to the streets in support of Muslims across the City, Hyderabad citizens also extended their support and started a protest in the City.
The Hyderabad police is also on alert and has tightened security in sensitive areas of the City. Anjani Kumar, the Commissioner of Hyderabad Police, took to Twitter and urged the citizens to be calm and avoid any kind of violence.

I sincerely feel like praying to the national media not to show the disturbing visuals of Delhi riots. It disturbs the mind of common peace loving people. These are testing times for all of us and we all have to work together and ensure that mischief makers do not take advantage
