The Income Tax (IT) officials raided the house of Mr. Malla Reddy, the Labour Minister of Telangana. The raid, which started in the early morning of the 22nd of November, Tuesday, is continued for the second day, the 23rd of November, Wednesday.
The raid was carried out in view of the tax evasion allegations against Mr. Malla Reddy, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister. It is to be noted, Mr. Malla Reddy runs several educational institutions including a medical college, a dental college, a hospital and an engineering college. The IT officials believe that he was involved in tax evasion, hence they are searching his house and offices.
Besides Mr, Malla Reddy, the IT team in simultaneous raids, conducted searches at the premises of Mr. Malla Reddy, his son Mr. Mahender Reddy and son in law Mr. Marri Rajasekhar Reddy. Besides the residences, the IT officials also searched the offices of Mr. Malla Reddy in the Hyderabad and Medchal Malkajgiri districts.
The IT raid for the second day is still ongoing.
