The Income Tax (IT) department official concluded raids at the residence, offices and educational institutions of Mr. Malla Reddy, the Labour Minister of Telangana.
The Income Tax Department carried out raids for two consecutive days, the 22nd of November and the 23rd of November, amid allegations of tax evasion. The raids concluded on the morning of the 24th of November, Thursday.
After the raids, the IT officials notified Mr. Malla Reddy, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader to appear before the IT Department office, for further investigation.
According to the issued notice, Mr. Malla Reddy has been asked to appear before them before the 28th of November, Monday.
Meanwhile, slamming the IT raids and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) Mr. Malla Reddy filed a complaint against IT officer named Mr. Ratnakar at Boinpally. Besides Mr. Malla Reddy, IT officials who conducted raids also registered a first information report (FIR) complaining about the behaviour and non cooperation throughout the raid.
The Telangana Police has registered separate cases and launched an investigation. Furthermore, the IT officials also reported a case against Mr. Malla Reddy for alleged tax evasion and started an investigation.
