On the 7th of January, Justice Hima Kohli took the oath as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court (HC.)
Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, administered the oath to Ms. Hima Kohli. The swearing in ceremony was held on the afternoon of the 7th of January at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, and other judges of the Telangana High Court were present at the swearing in ceremony.
The number of advocates present during the oath taking ceremony was limited due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
With this, Justice Hima Kohli is also the first woman Chief Justice of Telangana High Court (HC.)
Hima Kohli started her law career as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1984.
Before being appointed as Telangana HC CJ, Ms. Kohli held the position of a judge in the Delhi High Court.
