Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, held an emergency meeting over the Weather Department alert of heavy to moderate rainfall.

Recently, the Telangana Weather Department and Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued rainfall alert in the State. According to the alert, the low lying regions of Telangana are expected to witness heavy rainfall for the next 4-5 days. In regard to this, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao chaired a meeting, which was attended by district officials and other concerned officials.

Mr. Rao also telephones the Chief Secretary of Telangana Mr. Somesh Kumar, instructed him to ensure the safety of people amid the rain situation in Telangana. The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to ensure that the district collectors and entire Government staff remain vigilant and take appropriate action from time to time.

Issues related to electricity, water logging, uprooting of trees and plants and other rain related issues should be under control. He also asked to direct the employees concerned in the district not to avoid inconvenience to the public in the wake of torrential rainfall. Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao also instructed the Municipal department, Panchayat Raj department, Roads and buildings department and electricity department to alert their employees on the same.

According to sources, isolated regions of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Nalgonda, Mulugu, Medchal Malkajgiri, Ranga Reddy, Siddipet and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts of Telangana are said to receive heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, Hyderabad is already witnessing heavy rainfall since Thursday, the 2nd of September. The low lying areas of the City are expected to have heavy rainfall until the 6th, 7th and 8th of September.

In addition, Disaster Response Force (DRF) has been deployed to solve water and rain related problems in the region.
