K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, hosted a grand farewell meeting for E.S.L. Narasimhan, the former Governor of Telangana.
The farewell meeting took place on the 7th of September, at Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The 7th of September was the last date E.S.L. Narasimhan held the position of the Governor of Telangana.
K. Chandrashekar Rao and his wife welcomed Mr. Narasimhan at the camp office of Chief Minister and felicitated him for his contribution to the State.
The State Assembly Speaker, the Legislative Council Chairman, senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Public Service (IPS) officers and other officials of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) attended the event.
After the farewell event, Narasimhan left for Begumpet Airport to travel to Bengaluru.
E.S.L. Narasimhan was the Governor of Andhra Pradesh when Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were one State. Even after the State’s bifurcation, he continued to hold the position of Governor of both the Telugu States. However, recently, President Kovind replaced E.S.L. Narasimhan and appointed Biswabhusan Harichandan, a member of the BJP, as the Governor of AP.
Tamilisai Soundararajan, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) is the new Governor of Telangana.
Ms. Soundararajan took oath as the Governor of the State on the 8th of September.
