As promised last week, K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 30th of July, donated 6 ambulances to the State run hospitals.
The launch event of the six ambulances to government hospitals for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 response, took place at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad.
Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, K.T. Rama Rao’s wife Shailima, daughter Alekhya and few other ministers and legislators participated in the launch of these ambulances.
Mr. Rao later took to Twitter and said, “Happy to contribute 6 vehicles which will initially serve as ‘Covid Response Vehicles’ & subsequently as ambulances to the health dept through Hon’ble Health Minister @Eatala_Rajender Garu

KTR, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, urged TRS cadres and leaders to come forward and add to the initiative.
The donation of the ambulances is a part of ‘gift a smile’ initiative taken by KTR on his birthday on the 24th of July.
Following Mr. Rama Rao’s announcement, several ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and senior leaders of the party also announced to donate ambulances.
With this, MLAs and leaders are going to provide 100 ambulances to 32 districts of the State
