K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 24th of September flagged off response ambulances to the State run hospitals.
The launch event of the ambulances to government hospitals for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 response, took place at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad.
The ambulances were gifted under an initiative ‘Gift a Smile’ by Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy, Chennur Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Balka Suman and Mancherial MLA Diwakar Rao.
A tota ofl 6 ambulances were given by the MLAs, 3 by Indrakaran Reddy, 2 by MLA Balka Suman and 1 by Diwakar Rao.
In addition KTR also launched the ambulances gifted by the Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, party incharge of Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency.
The Minister applauded the leaders for their kind gesture for the welfare of the people and congratulated them for coming forward to donate the ambulances, which are a part of the Novel Coronavirus containment efforts.
During the launch, Indrakaran Reddy said, “The ambulances will be operated from the collectorates of Nirmal and Mancherial. The vehicles have all the modern medical equipment including a ventilator and oxygen supply which would be a great help for the Corona infected patients.”
The launch event was attended by Secunderabad Cantonment Board members Jakkula Maheswar Reddy, Keshav Reddy, Anitha Prabhakar, Pandu Yadav, Nalini Kiran, Bhagyasri Syam and senior leaders of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
KTR, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, urged TRS cadres and leaders to come forward and add to the initiative.
The donation of the ambulances is a part of ‘gift a smile’ initiative taken by KTR on his birthday on the 24th of July.
Following Mr. Rama Rao’s announcement, several ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and senior leaders of the party also announced to donate ambulances.
With this, MLAs and leaders are going to provide 100 ambulances to 32 districts of the State.
