Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on the 23rd of November, raised questions and hit back strongly at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

On the 22nd of November, the BJP leader and the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar filed a chargesheet against the TRS party.

Mr. Javadekar said the TRS should be charged “for not fulfilling its promises for the last six years.”

Responding to the chargesheet by the BJP, KTR said, “Why should a chargesheet be filed against TRS? Is it for ensuring uninterrupted power supply, problem free drinking water supply, improving a host of other civic amenities, making Hyderabad the safest city in the country by maintaining law and order or getting investments into the State?”

Mr. Rao said, “If one has to file a chargesheet, it should be done against the BJP by 132 crore people for not giving 2 crore jobs every year for the last six years as promised by the party and not depositing Rs. 15 lakh in the bank accounts of every poor family.”

The statements of Mr. Rama Rao came during a roadshow at Zaheeranagar Chowrasta in Banjara Hills, Library Chowrasta in Khairatabad and Sriramnagar Chowrasta in Jubilee Hills.

The roadshows were part of the campaign for the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

During the roadshows, Mr. Rao said, “Otherwise, why would they remember Bhagyalaxmi temple only during elections. Their plan is to create communal divide with hate speeches and get some votes and in the process divide people living peacefully (sic.)”

Taking a stand on the ongoing flood relief distribution issue, Mr. Rao criticised the BJP and held them responsible for the halting of the distribution process.

After being hit by heavy storm and flood, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government announced Rs. 10,000 to all the flood hit people and families in the State.

However, due to a letter written by the Telangana State BJP leaderPresident Sanjay Kumar Bandi, the State Election Commission (SEC) directed the TRS Government to stop the distribution until the end of the elections.

The GHMC elections are scheduled to be held on the 1st of December and the results for the same would be announced on the 4th of December.

Stay tuned for further updates.
