K.T. Rama Rao (KTR,) the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and a Cabinet minister of Telangana, on the 28th of January, conducted a meeting with the TRS Members of Parliament (MPs.)

As the Budget Session of the Parliament is going to start soon, KTR briefed the Party’s MPs about the issues they need to raise during the Session.

Concerned about the ongoing outrage over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act [CAA,] 2019, KTR advised the MPs to stick to the stand taken by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and not speak about the same.

During the meeting with the MPs, KTR asked them to highlight the issues in Telangana on priority, instead of focussing on the CAA and the National Register of Citizens (NRC.)

KTR said, “The Centre has taken inspiration from several schemes of the State governments. Talk about the State government schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Beema, Telanganaku Haritha Haram, Mission Kakatiya, Kaleshwaram Project.  Speak out on the failure of the Centre in allocating not even a single rupee for these schemes even after the NITI Ayog suggested for funding.”

KTR asked the MPs to raise issues like the Goods and Services Tax (GST) funds due from the Center to the State, the State’s long pending demands and other economic issues of the State.

This year, the Budget Session of the Parliament is scheduled to be held in two phases.  The first phase would begin on the 31st of January and continue till the 11th of February and the second phase would commence on the 2nd of March and conclude on the 3rd of April.

Stay tuned for further updates.
