KTR Says BJP Is Using Religion For Votes In GHMC Elections

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) campaign is being held in a high voltage drama.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are fighting in full swing and criticising each other during the campaign.

According to sources, K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the TRS said the BJP is using religion to get votes in the GHMC election.

Speaking at ‘Aryavyshya’ meet here at People’s Plaza in Hyderabad, Mr. Rao lashed out at the BJP for not depositing Rs. 15 lakh to each citizen through ‘Jan-dhan’ accounts.

The TRS Working President also asked the public if any of them have received the amount.

Mr. Rao also ridiculed BJP’s statement on bringing black money from foreign countries.

Mr. ao said that no employment opportunities were created after the BJP-led NDA government came to power and also sold the companies like Air India, LIC of the government of India. “The BJP is trying to destroy the future of children by provoking communal harmony,” he said. He further asked the public to think of what the political parties have done for the people and make a choice. “The TRS party has developed the state and prevented curfews and communal war by prioritizing peace and security,” he added.

The Minister also reacted to the BJP remarks on Rohingyas and questioned the centre as to what it was doing when the Rohingyas had come into the country.

The GHMC elections are scheduled to be held on the 1st of December.

The results of the GHMC elections would be announced on the 4th of December. The major parties contesting the GHMC elections are the BJP, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
