K. T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, is going to visit Warangal on the 12th of April. The tour amid the rise in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 is to lay the foundation stone for several development works.

During the one day tour on Monday, the 12th of April, the Telangana Minister would also inaugurate the completed projects taken under the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) limits. In regard to the visit, KTR, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) conducted a review meeting on the 9th of April. The meeting was attended by other TRS ministers like Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod along with Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and former Mayor of Warangal Gunda Prakash Rao.

During the meeting chaired by Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the ministers informed him about the decisions taken in the recent meeting and the progress of various projects. The projects also include night shelters and Vaikunta Hamams, distribution of pattas to the poor and inauguration of 2BHK houses in the region.

The Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao also said the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) authorities decided to provide 95,000 tap connections ensuring free drinking water to each household from Ugadi, the Telugu New Year on the 13th of April. Dayakar Rao Errabelli also informed that he directed the municipal authorities to give tap connections to all houses for a fee of Rs. 1 for the families (below poverty line) living in the slums.

The free drinking water supply is a part of the TRS Government’s Mission Bhagirathi. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Hoverny spent an estimated cost of Rs. 1,000 crores for the Mission Bhagiratha scheme under the GWMC limits.

The meeting concluded with the discussion of the route map of KTR’s visit in Warangal.
