K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, visited rain affected areas in Siricilla, Telangana.
On the 8th of September, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao visited Sircilla town, which has witnessed heavy rainfall since the past one week.
It is to be noted, Hyderabad is witnessing heavy to moderate rainfall since the 3rd of September, due to which most low lying areas are suffering issues. In Sircilla, 15 cm rainfall was reported, the highest in the past 30 years.
In regions like Venkampeta, Pragathinagar, Shivanagar, Ashoknagar, Old Bus Stand, Sanjeevaiahnagar, Nethanna chowk, Main Bazar and Shanthinagar, regular life of people was disturbed due to floodwaters, waterlogging issues and electricity cuts.
To review the ground situation due to the rainfall, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao visited the region. The Local Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) welcomed Mr. Rao and made all the necessary arrangements.
Ahead of the visit, Mr. Rama Rao also held a review meeting and discussed the measures to control the rain situation in the City.
During the meeting, the concerned officials and the TRS Minister discussed damage due to incessant rains, relief measures and rescue measures.
Meanwhile, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD,) Telangana, especially Hyderabad is expected to witness heavy to moderate rainfall for the next 2-3 days.
