Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Munugode, challenged the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

The Indian National Congress (INC) leader in an interview said, if the TRS Government announces Rs. 2,000 crores for the development of his Assembly constituency, he would resign from the post.  The challenge was made in the wake of the recently announced welfare schemes and development projects in the constituency.  He said, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS Government is habituated to announce welfare schemes only at the time of elections.

Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy said, the TRS Government does not care about the development but the winning of his Party and rule.  The sensational remarks were made after the KCR Government announced to launch the Dalit Bandhu scheme from Huzurabad Assembly constituency.  The project for the growth and the development of the Dalits in Telangana would be a pilot project, with an investment of approximately Rs. 80,000 crores.  The scheme launch came at a time when the Huzurabad Assembly would go for by elections, after the resignation of the former MLA of Huzurabad Eatala Rajender.

Citing the same, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy said, the TRS is worried about power and hence decided to launch the scheme from Huzurabad, which would go for by election.   He said he would stick by his word and would resign if the constituencies witness development works, even after the completion of the elections in the State.

It is to be noted, the Huzurabad by elections are due to be held soon.  The official dates of the elections are scheduled to be released by the Election Commission of India (ECI.)

Major parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Indian National Congress (INC) and the TRS are in the fray to contest the by elections.
