The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) acted on a tip off and managed to seize 200 grams of cocaine from a Nigerian drug peddler at Secunderabad railway station. Lary Onyekachi aged 35, was traveling from Hyderabad to Bangalore by Rajdhani express.

The suspect’s bags were checked and was frisked leading to the NCB finding 200 grams of cocaine in his socks. Lary had acquired the drug from Delhi and was on his way to make the delivery.

The NCB official said, “We have recovered 200 grams of Cocaine concealed in the socks of the accused. Lary confessed to the crime and said that he got the contraband from his handlers in Delhi and he was supposed to deliver the same in Bangalore.”

Lary confessed and told the NCB that the delivery in Bangalore was to a Nigerian. Further investigation showed that Lary was traveling on a forged passport. “Lary came to India in 2012 on a tourist visa and continued to stay at Chander Vihar in New Delhi illegally. He was into narcotics smuggling for the past few years,” said the NCB official. His visa had expired in 2012 and he continued staying in the country illegally.

The drugs seized were worth Rs. 1 crore on the international market. Lary Onyekachi has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and has been kept in judicial custody.
