The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 22nd of September, implemented the new Revenue Act, 2020 in the State. 

On the 22nd of September, the TRS ministers and senior leaders conducted a meeting and discussed amendments in the existing Act.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, chaired the meeting to discuss the possibilities of new amendments in the Revenue Act.

The new Revenue Act would bring transparency in the State regarding the land rights and other property issues.

As per sources, the new ‘Revenue Act’, land rights and landowner passbooks amendments have been added to the act. Even the abolition of the VRO system is also added to the act.

The Act was implemented after the Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan approved the bill.

The new Revenue (Amended) Bill, 2020 was approved by the members in both houses during monsoon Assembly sessions, which started from the 7th of September.

Telangana Government also released the gazette notification regarding the implementation on the 19th September, 2020.

After the Telangana Government’s notifications, the Law Ministry of Telangana released the notification on the 22nd of September.

Along with Telangana State Bypass Act, the Private Universities, Municipal, Panchayati Raj and GST Amendment Acts have also come into existence.

According to sources, Governor Tamilsai Soundar Rajan approved a total of 12 bills today.

Meanwhile, the Monsoon Assembly Session of Telangana would continue till the 28th of September.
