Nurses at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) have initiated a flash strike to denounce alleged harassment by the incharge director. The nurses have claimed that the official has been subjecting them to additional duties, leading them to boycott their responsibilities, consequently affecting healthcare services since Monday night.
Protesting within the hospital’s premises, the nurses have demanded that the hospital authorities address their concerns. They have accused the incharge director of overburdening them with workloads by assigning them additional duties.
The sudden strike has severely impacted both inpatient and outpatient services, with doctors having to delay surgeries due to the unavailability of nurses. The hospital administration is currently negotiating with the striking nurses to address their demands.
The case is under investigation and more details are awaited.
