The Apex Court has transferred the investigation of the murder case of Mr. Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case to the Telangana State police.
On the 29th of November, Tuesday, the Supreme Court directed the Andhra Pradesh State Police to hand over the investigation document of the high profile murder case to the Telangana Police.
It is to be noted, Mr. Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, the uncle of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, was murdered in 2019. He was also the 14th Lok Sabha member, representing the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party. The investigation started in 2019, after he was killed, is still underway.
The Supreme Court today gave its verdict on the petition filed by Ms. Y.S. Sunitha, the daughter of Mr. Y.S. Vivekanada Reddy, who was demanding the investigation to be transferred to another state police.
The bench headed by Justice M.R. Shah ordered the transfer to Telangana. The Supreme Court said that Viveka’s daughter and wife were not satisfied with the investigation of the case and that they were ordering the transfer. The Supreme Court has revealed that fundamental rights have been considered while announcing the judgement into the matter.
