The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mr. Sunil Bansal was appointed the party’s national General Secretary, on the 10th of August.
With the appointment, Mr. Sunil Bansal would be in-charge for West Bengal, Odisha and Telangana BJP unit.
Highlighting about Mr. Sunil Bansal’s career, prior to the national General Secretary, Mr. Sunil Bansal was general secretary (organisation) in Uttar Pradesh. Notably, Mr. Dharampal, a BJP leader replaced Mr. Sunil Bansal in the position of Uttar Pradesh General Secretary, confirmed a party statement.
The statement added that Mr. Karamveer has been appointed as general secretary in the party’s Jharkhand unit.
Notably, the appointment made by the BJP President Mr. J.P. Nadda came a day after the BJP lost power in Bihar, where it ran a coalition government with the Janata Dal United (JDU.)
Furthermore, the appointment of Mr. Sunil Bansal to Odisha, West Bengal and Telangana unit is to establish a stronghold of the BJP in the eastern states and poll bound state of Telangana.
The Telugu state of Telangana is set to conduct the State Assembly elections in 2023 and the ruling, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the opposition BJP is eyeing to win the elections in the State.
