Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cinematography in Telangana, on the 5th of May, said, Tollywood film shoots might resume in June.
The statement came after a meeting with top producers of the Tollywood film industries, who are procuring losses during the lockdown, implemented from the 24th of March.
Briefing about the meeting with the producers, Talasani Srinivas Yadav said, the Telangana Government is in support of the Telugu film industry and would discuss the strategies to resume it soon.
Addressing the media, Mr. Talasani Srinivas said the decision to resume shooting would be taken after considering the social distancing possibilities and other issues related to the COVID-19 situation.
The Novel Coronavirus has hit every industry including the film industry in the State and resuming the shooting is difficult before June.
However, a final call regarding the Telugu film industry and to begin shooting would be taken after the lockdown 3.0 ends on the 17th of May.
On the other hand, to control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, the Telangana Government is likely to extend the lockdown till the 28th of May.
Telangana reported a total of 1,085 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 29 fatalities till date.
