The Tamil Nadu Government extended support to rain hit Telangana and announced Rs. 10 crores financial aid.
On the 19th of October, E. Palaniswami, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, wrote a letter to K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and expressed his concern over the situation.
Since the 10th of October, Telangana witnessed heavy rainfall damaging properties, crops and lives.
Till date, the State Government reported 53 lives which were claimed in the rain related incident.
Considering the losses and situation of Telangana, Mr. Palaniswami said, “At this difficult time, on behalf of the government and people of Tamil Nadu, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family members of all those who have lost their lives in the rains and floods.”
The extended financial assistance given to the Telangana Government was said to be as a token of support and solidarity of the Government and people of Tamil Nadu.
The amount of Rs. 10 crores was donated from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to the Government of Telangana. Mr. Palaniswami further said they would send blankets and mats as relief material to the affected families and assured of all help if Telangana Government wants.
Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana and K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, extended gratitude for the helping gesture of the Tamil Nadu Government.
Ms. Soundararajan took to Twitter and said, “I thank you for sharing and inquiring about the concerns of the Telangana brothers and sisters affected by the flood in Hyderabad.”
In addition, the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) issued an advisory and announced an orange alert for rain in Telangana.
According to the issued advisory Telangana is likely to get rain for the next two days.
