Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, on the 15th of October, travelled to Delhi for a one day visit.
Ms. Soundararajan reached Delhi around 1:00 P.M., and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After meeting Mr. Modi, Ms. Soundararajan is scheduled to meet Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India.
The meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to be to discuss the current situation in Telangana due to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike. The TSRTC employees started the strike on the 5th of October and are continuing it. The visit of Tamilisai Soundararajan came after the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the TSRTC union leaders met the Telangana Governor on the 14th of October. The union leaders shared their problems and put forward their demands in front of the Telangana Government, including the merger of TSRTC with the State Government.
Tamilisai Soundararajan also prepared a memorandum, briefing about the strike and other issues in Telangana.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M., at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later, around 4:00 P.M., Ms. Soundararajan will meet Amit Shah.
