Telangana: 300 Plus COVID-19 Cases Reported

Telangana reported 62 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID- 19, on the late night of the 5th of April, increasing the total number to 334.

The reports were confirmed  by the Medical and Health departments of the State through a news bulletin. 

According to the media bulletin, released at 10:00 P.M., on the 5th of April, Telangana reported 62 new cases, 289 active cases, 33 recovered cases and 11 deceased due to COVID-19.

According to the bulletin, Hyderabad has the highest number of positive cases of COVID-19.

Since the cases increased drastically in a day, CM K. Chandrashekar Rao urged the citizens to be self isolated.  CM KCR conducted a meeting with Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana and reviewed the situation, taking all the necessary steps.   The medical department staff are working 24X7 at 6 diagnostic centres, being available all the time. The attendees of the Markaz Mosque event were also tracked and are receiving the necessary medical attention.

Emphasising on the need for social distancing and self quarantine, KCR said the only way to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus is isolation. 

Despite increase in numbers, the Telangana Government assured Telangana is still in the Stage 2 of the spread of the Coronavirus and there is no report of community transmission.
