Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, on the 18th of August, spoke about the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi this year.
Mr. Kumar said, “The State Government is intentionally misguiding the issue of Ganesh utsav this year. Instead it must allow the utsav and also help conduct the celebrations as it was in earlier years.”
Bandi Sanjay Kumar asked the State Government to allow the conduct of Ganesh Chaturthi in the State.
Mr. Kumar said a few low rung officers and police are trying to impose their own rules and harassing the organizers of the Ganesh festival.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “I warn the TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) leaders that we will lay seize to their houses if the Government try to arrest any utsav committee member in the name of containment of Covid-19. People are observing the way the TRS government in the State is trying to implement anti-Hindu rule in the State. (sic.)”
He assured organizers of the festival celebrations and said the BJP will fight against any such move by the State Government.
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi celebration would be held on the 22nd of August.
